Frequently asked questions
How does buying this item at auction work?
The item goes to whoever places the highest bid, subject to the minimum bid in the notice. It is usually sold as-is, without warranty: read the notice and, if the auctioneer allows it, inspect it at the location stated in the notice before bidding.
What is the minimum bid for this item?
The minimum bid is R$ 100. It is the lowest amount accepted to win; the final price may rise as bids come in.
What costs are there besides the bid itself?
Besides the bid, the winner usually pays the auctioneer's commission (generally 5%) and, depending on the notice, an administrative fee and the cost of collecting and transporting the item — add everything up before setting your maximum bid.
How to buy this item from outside Brazil
You need a Brazilian tax ID (CPF, obtained at a consulate) and, as a rule, someone in Brazil to pick up the item; the bid is placed on the auctioneer's website. The auction notice sets the costs, the pick-up deadline and where the item is.
